Session Format
In the first session, we complete the paperwork, discuss confidentiality, and begin to hear your story. The focus of the second session is to continue to hear your story and discover potential areas of strength and improvement.
The third and fourth sessions are typically a time to write down what the focus of counseling will be. This is often called a “Treatment Plan.” The treatment plan will outline what things you would like to change or work on. For example, maybe you would like to focus on being aware of when you start to feel anxious and learn techniques to halt those feelings. Perhaps your goal is to learn specific communication skills to help you communicate more effectively with your spouse or child. We can work on those plans together.
The Treatment Plan outlines your specific goals, how we will measure them, and what will happen to help you reach them. It will also outline who is in charge of the different aspects of your Treatment Plan. For example within a family dynamic, the child may need to practice new skills, the parent may learn new parenting techniques and your therapist will provide you with a list of resources.
The following sessions will focus upon meeting your Therapy Treatment Goals. We will discuss the progress and decide if we need to add goals, or change them.
Insurance
Insurance is an agreement between you and your insurance company. Hearth and Healing Counseling is currently working with Cigna, United/Optum, and Anthem BC/BS.
Most insurance companies want you to be diagnosed and usually dictate how many and what type of therapy you can have. We believe that this should be decided between you and your therapist.
Counseling Rates
No-show or fail to give 24-hour notice of cancellation, you will be charged a cancellation fee equal to ½ of your normal session fee.
